Jodi Manby and Chris Quirarte join the Cotsen Foundation as Senior Program Officers

The Cotsen Foundation is pleased to welcome two outstanding new additions to the ART of TEACHING staff, Ms. Jodi Manby and Mr. Chris Quirarte. Though new to our staff, they may be familiar to many of you since both have been involved with the ART of TEACHING for several years.

Jodi, an ART of TEACHING alumnus, brings with her a wealth of experiences in professional growth and instructional expertise. She has worked as a staff developer with Growing Educators and the UCLA Mathematics Project/LAUSD Partnership. Jodi has also spoken at national conferences, and co-authored units of study and blogs. In addition to serving as the mentor liaison for Alvarado School in Long Beach, and Los Angeles Unified’s Crestwood, Jodi’s responsibilities with the ART of TEACHING include conducting some professional development sessions, and coordinating the Foundation’s alumni work.

Chris, who comes to us from Whittier City School District, has experienced the ART of TEACHING from multiple perspectives. Having been a mentor, alumni teacher, and a principal of an AOT school, he has a unique first-hand understanding of all facets of the program. After completing his mentorship, Chris was chosen by his district to serve as an Instructional Coach to support classroom teachers as they worked to improve their practice. He will serve as a mentor liaison for Hurley Elementary in Rowland, and Fullerton District’s Raymond School. He will also coordinate the ART of TEACHING’s Parent Engagement efforts.
