Empowering Leadership: Principals Explore AI and Professional Development at the Annual Principals’ Breakfast

In our mission to take teachers from good to great and journey towards teaching excellence, we understand the importance of strong leadership to support our teachers at Cotsen schools. On August 23rd, we hosted our annual principals’ breakfast and new principals’ orientation, providing space for the principals to learn in community with one another. The event featured an informative session on leveraging artificial intelligence in education with Wes Kriesel and Kunal Dalal from Orange County Department of Education, showcasing how AI can assist principals in streamlining administrative tasks for efficiency, creating stronger human connections, solidifying the why of what we do, and contributing to an increased sense of efficacy and empowerment. They introduced various AI tools including Gamma for presentations, Pi as an emotionally intelligent AI assistant, Ideogram for image creation, and Suno for music, with opportunities to play and explore. Additionally, principals explored a range of professional development offerings and resources for current and alumni schools, while new principals were introduced to the ART of TEACHING program through a panel of current principals and their mentors. All in all, it was a lovely day of learning and connecting across schools and districts.
