Bulldog Bark: Aviation Elementary’s Student-Run Newspaper Ignites Passion for Writing

Aviation Elementary in the Wiseburn School District has been buzzing with excitement this year, all thanks to the Bulldog Bark, a student-run school newspaper. A dedicated staff of 44 students from grades 3 to 5 have passionately contributed to the newspaper, bringing their unique perspectives and voices to various topics of interest. Their commitment and hard work are truly commendable.

A couple of weeks ago, the school’s teacher shared the details of this exciting project, which has been underway throughout the year. The students wrote 150-word articles to apply for their positions and have since grown in confidence and skill while working on the Bulldog  Bark. Currently, they are putting the finishing touches on their third and final edition for the year.

This project has been a passion for the teacher, as it ties into the school’s Writer’s Workshop and Core Curriculum. Witnessing the students’ growth as writers and their ability to express themselves creatively has been immensely rewarding.

The Bulldog Bark is a testament to the hard work and dedication of these young writers, and the school community is eagerly anticipating the final edition later this year. We can’t wait to see what these talented students have in store for us.
