Cotsen Foundation for the ART of TEACHING Expands Northern California Presence

In Fall 2011, Cotsen Foundation for the ART of TEACHING welcomed several new schools in Northern California as part of the foundation’s 2011 – 2013 program cycle. The new Northern California participants include:

  • Mt. Pleasant Elementary (Mt. Pleasant Elementary School District)
  • Sanders Elementary (Mt. Pleasant Elementary School District)
  • Vine Hill Elementary (Scotts Valley Unified School District)

In addition, a second cohort of teachers at Mintie White Elementary in Pajaro Valley Unified School District began the ART of TEACHING this fall.

Since 2006, Cotsen Foundation for the ART of TEACHING has had a presence in Northern California, working in conjunction with the New Teacher Center as part of efforts to develop gifted teachers. Other schools in the region that are currently participating in the 2010 – 2012 ART of TEACHING program cycle include:

  • Bradley Elementary School (Pajaro Valley Unified School District)
  • Mar Vista Elementary (Pajaro Valley Unified School District)
  • San Lorenzo Valley Elementary (San Lorenzo Valley Unified School District)

With a vast and growing network of educators within Northern and Southern California, Cotsen Foundation for the ART of TEACHING has been active in the development of gifted teachers and artful teaching throughout 20 school districts in 91 elementary schools to date.
